Roositud masterpieces from Tõstamaa

100% Estonian handicraft

Unique handicraft items and ceramics straight from the hands of the best local masters

Handicraft that
carries traditions forward.

  • Tõstamaa Handicraft Centre was founded in 2010 at the initiative and under the leadership of Anu Randmaa, in a former kindergarten building.
  • Our contribution to reviving the roosimine technique is valued in Estonia and noticed further afield, and people come here to learn it.
  • Folk costume enthusiasts regard our centre as a cosy “folk costume nest”, as one course participant put it in her feedback.
  • We are a steady link in the handicraft network of local communities of the Estonian Folk Art and Craft Union, and we cooperate with the Estonian Rural Tourism Association, the Pärnu Bay Partnership Assembly and the city of Pärnu.

You can order services, products and training courses from us year-round.

shop

Our handicraft shop is in the heart of Tõstamaa, where you will find distinctive Estonian handicrafts. Next to the shop is an exhibition room where we present the work of craft masters and organise a variety of exhibitions.

Workshops

Tõstamaa’s traditional craft technique – roositud knitting.

We regularly organise workshops where experienced masters share their skills with both beginners and advanced makers. Knitting, embroidery, pottery, felting — get your hands on it and try it yourself.
